Moventas to deliver condition management system to PVO-Innopower

Moventas and PVO-Innopower have agreed on cooperation, which includes delivering a wind turbine condition management system (CMaS) to PVO-Innopower wind farms in Kemi and Oulunsalo. The deal also includes a remote services agreement.

PVO-Innopower, the biggest wind power operator in Finland, has twelve WWD-3 type wind turbines in Ajos, Kemi and Riutukari, Oulunsalo. Moventas' CMaS will be installed in all of them.

Moventas’ CMaS is a unique condition management system developed at the company’s Jvväskylä R & D department functions. The system detects possible damages in gears and other mechanical components before they start to affect the turbines’ functioning.

”Moventas was a natural choice for us. We were looking for a reliable partner with whom we can develop our business in the long run. With CMaS we can improve the reliability of our wind turbines. At the same time we will save in maintenance costs due to the preventative effects on larger errors or damages”, says CEO of PVO-Innopower Lauri Luopajärvi .

Moventas’ Project Manager Antti Turunen  is very pleased with the new partner: “Our cooperation with PVO-Innopower is a major door-opener for us in the improvement of Finnish wind energy reliability and usability. This agreement proves that there is a clear need for the CMaS in the markets. With the help of the CMaS our customers can shorten or even prevent wind turbine maintenance halts. This will lead to increased energy distribution reliability to their customers.
